My neighbor's dog has killed 7 or 8 of my chickens. One time I caught him in the act. If I would have had a gun, I'd have shot him in a heart beat. But I don't like guns and don't own any. I'm glad I didn't have one, because I'd have felt bad later if I'd killed the neighbor's pet. They've never apologized for any of the chickens, even though I see them kind of as pets too. And they've never paid me a dime. And I don't like them much. But it would still suck to have killed someone's pet.
