  1. SC weather can actually be cold. We're known for our 110+ degree (average 90 degree) weather, but visitors fail to realize that while not to the extent of the northern states - we are quite capable of reaching cold temperatures too, usually in February (actually reached a record low of 13 degrees this year).
  2. A large population of our state are die hard fans to football and there are often "inner"state rivalries at local events that encourage the separation of Gamecock fans and the Clemson fans.
  3. We say things like ma'am, darling, sug', sweety pie, bless your heart, ya'll, fixin' to, hold your horses, reckon', playing possum, etc.
  4. There is such a thing as southern hospitality and it's not uncommon for strangers to speak, nod, compliment you in passing (or even in lines at the store, at the gas station, etc.)
  5. This is not a good representation of all South Carolinians - but this totally happened to Miss Teen SC... poor girl.
