I've done DBT and that's what my t is trained as.
Anyway, a few months ago a friend was talking to me and I was feeling pretty low. I said something and she made a statement that sounds just like my t! I teased and asked if she'd been talking to him and she laughed and said that i just talked about it so much over the years she's picked it up.
i also notice I do this with my kid. Like, i feel like I didn't get healthy emotional habits taught to me, so I find myself sitting with him and talking him through skills. Or when i'm with a friend, i find myself quoting things my therapist has said to me.
idk. sometimes we can feel so rough inside our minds, i guess this seems like a positive. like something is being internalized and making me a better parent/spouse/friend.
what are your experiences?
