I'm more on the depressive side of things, so I'm not sure about coping skills, but I wonder how long you have been on medication? Because sometimes it takes a while for meds to kick in. Also, if you are on any anti-depressants, many of those have a tendency to aggravate mania. I would check with your pdoc about this.
What is your support system like? Do you have family members or friends that you can turn to?
Sometimes when I have outbursts, I later realize that they have been building for a while. It helps to become aware of your moods. Two things that might help: mindfulness meditation and yoga. They can help you get more in tune with your emotions and the physical symptoms they cause. This can help you learn to slow down and breathe when you feel impulsive.
