I had a wonderful counselor in high school that was there for me through a suicide attempt and the onset of my depression and trichtillomania.
Unfortunately I have heard that most people have had a bad experience with their counselors and in fact the other counselors in my high school were simply academic orientated. I think it is sad...high school is such a difficult time and having GOOD school counselors is so crucial to help students through the transition.
