BPD paranoia seems to be related to anxiety and relationships. The psychotic kind are usually bizarre, such as the FBI spying on a person through a webcam, and is a part of a delusion rather than a response to an interpersonal stressor.

The psychotic symptoms in depression are usually mood congruent. For example, a person may believe they are dead or dying. Some people experience hallucinations without delusions as well.
