Work has been going good, I have some issues of my own. I am doing help and a lab assistant in the student center (away from doing call center), I feel as though I have issues trying to help people with their computer problems. I don't want to feel codependent on my two full time coworkers and feels like I am coming to them for little things in the student center.

I have students asking me about printer problems, software problems, etc. I don't have access to a lot of tools only very little as a temp employee (it would be a long time before I could get any board approved position) and it's hard to understand people's computer problems. I am trying hard to listen to every detail they ask of me. I am used to working on my own computer issues at home....with my dad that I find it difficult at times trying to understand someone else's problems.

I never worked in the IT using a lot of problem solving methods and I am getting some IT experience which I am grateful for. I graduated college in 2010 and no chance for an actual IT job 4 years ago. Trying to tap into my knowledge and the things I have done at home seems to go blank at work all the time. My codependency from home is kicking in at work like I said being dependent on my coworkers to help me in the student center and I want to do it on my own until I really need help.

There are other stuff we need to go over as we haven't had a chance to go over yet because we have been so busy. It is OTJ, I am learning everything and it is a lot of learning since there wasn't any training before starting the job. I just need to use my own problem-solving methods, it's difficult not to take the mouse from students and show them what you are talking about visually when words are not enough and if you do that; they will expect you to do it for them all the time.

Am I over reacting? I don't have someone to talk to about this, didn't have a chance to talk to my boyfriend about this. Any tips/advice?
