I have a mild case of
delayed sleep phase disorder. I have a ton of energy at night and have difficulty falling asleep, and no matter what I try, I have difficulty getting up in the morning.
I have tried everything to stop this, but its a part of my bodies circuitry, hormones, etc. The only thing keeping me somewhat 'normal' is my daily job which forces me out of bed in the morning by the motivation to make money, eat and survive.
A few years ago, I quit my job and was launching my own business. The first 6 months I was working on my marketing strategy and didn't have to go anywhere in the morning, and this is when I really noticed the problem. I would go to bed as late as 3 am, and wake up as late as 11am. I am back to a normal pattern, but as always, I still feel energetic late at night, and I feel like a zombie in the morning.
When I am really manic, it gets worse of course, and I barely sleep at all.
