Well it is important to like your therapist.... and to trust your therapist.
Different people have different needs. Some might need empathy and a softer, kinder person. Some might need or hope for a more aggressive therapist.
There are also different kind of therapies.
I am not sure how old you are but ... if your therapist is someone you like or wish to work with... it is your therapy ..not your parents. Therapy can go in many directions, sometimes working on your relationshihp with your family...inclusive or parents generally being on top of the list.
