Ugh. I don't know if it's just coincidence, but it seems like when I get an IBS attack, my brain feels unusually drained. I'm more brain-foggy than usual when I'm going through a bad bout of IBS. Does anyone else feel this way? My IBS has been bad all weekend -- especially bad today -- and I feel like I haven't fully woken up all day. I'm just so groggy. I feel totally out of it, as if I've taken cold medicine or something that makes me drowsy, but I haven't taken any meds other than my daily AD. I'm not sleepy, just groggy. Could it be the IBS? Anyone else experienced this?

I find that an AD (Lexapro right now) tends to help the IBS. I was also on the Eating for IBS diet for quite a while and it worked very well While I was following that plan and doing yoga everyday and remembering to take my acidophilus, the IBS got much better. I stopped following the diet quite a while ago though, because I was feeling better and also because I'm just plain lazy and have been putting most of my energy and time into my job. I have also been lazy about my yoga routine. I'm regretting it now.

I'm also wondering if any of the women here who have IBS find it gets worse during their period. Mine does. They seem to be a package deal lately.
