I didn't even know what a mixed episode was, until my pdoc told me I was in one. Like bipolarnurse, i didn't know what was going on, "am I depressed? am I hypomanic?" Irritability, frequent extreme mood swings, anger, despair, thoughts of dying, mixed with hyper-sex-drive, high energy, mixed with low energy....I was a mess. Its been going on for months for me, and i am just now getting better thanks to my medication.
