Thanks Pfrog, I do too. It doesn't seem fair to have to "settle" if there is a suitable alternative. I, and many other individuals, including professionals, believe Complex PTSD is its own voice, just like depression, BPd, etc, etc.

This appears to come down purely to whether it is detailed as such in the DSM. But the efficacy of the diagnostic criteria and the DSM has been in question for ages, and PTSD/Complex Trauma is one of those areas. I think it would be wiser to heed the growing literature supporting this diagnosis, and listen to the individuals given this diagnosis over the DSM, which can take years to reflect actual changes in psychology.
