Please call your pdoc ASAP, or go to the ER if you don't think you can hang on through the weekend. You HAVE to get help---how can you care for other people when you yourself need care?
I'm assuming you were bipolar before you became your grandson's foster parent. Does DHHS know this? If so, they probably wouldn't yank your license for seeking help. In fact, I think they would approve---you're smart for recognizing you need it, rather than trying to bluff your way through your current episode. But you don't have to volunteer this information, do you? Is there some requirement that you have to report getting help for psychiatric issues?
