Are you on any specific meds.....I know for me, Prozac & wellbutrin were definite culprits in making me feel NOT HUNGRY.....& I did end up at an anorexic weight from NOT EATING......it doesn't have to be all about thinking you look fat to end up becoming anorexic. Maybe it's necessary to bet the Dx of anorexia nervosa.....but body image issues are NOT required for ending up at an anorexic weight & ending up needing serious medical treatment the same as someone with body image issues.
Me, I never wanted to get fat like my mother.....thought that women after they got married just "let themselves go" & I wasn't going to fall into that trap...lol......anyway, I was always conscious of healthy weight & I played a lot of sports with the guys at work so I never had an issue with gaining weight.....but that said.....when something like an illness or stress would come up in my life & I would get so sick I couldn't eat because it made me feel sick.....the weight loss would become dangerously low of it was a long term situation I was trapped in.
Hope you can get yourself figured out in the future & take care of yourself & find out what is causing you to feel full rather than the normal hunger that people feel. Meds can definitely cause that....but there are also other things that can go on in the body that can cause that also....that would take an MD/GP & tests to figure out.
The last time I was in the medical hospital with anorexia (about 9 years ago now).....my GP did so many tests to make sure there was nothing physically wrong while he had me captive in the hospital. I had just gone through a horrible trauma with the home care person & my mother was dying of cancer.....my life was a total nightmare.....& I couldn't get any food to settle. Grilled cheese sandwiches a few bites at a time & oatmeal cookies were about the only thing that I was able to manage & not even fluids.....it wasn't long before anemia hit........
It's nothing to mess around with & finding the reason is important....meds can be changed as that kind of side effect is NOT acceptable....but then neither is weight gain.....so it's difficult to find the right ballance. One either takes the meds that cause the weight loss & have to force themselves to eat.....or taking the meds that cause weight then always have to think about what is necessary to keep a healthy weight in keeping the weight down.....but it's necessary to work with your pdoc/MD/GP.....who ever is prescribing....or if no meds...then need to talk with GP about what might physically be causing the problem.
