I grew up with a mother & grandmother who were constantly trying new diets & yet they never lost weight & I always thought geeze.....get married & just let yourself go....but they weren't obese just a bit overweight looking back at it.....but I promised myself that I would never let that happen to me....I would always be in control of my eating & if I wanted to enjoy something disgustingly good & fattening, I would just do without something afterwards to make up for it.
When pregnant with my daughter I made sure I exercised & didn't gain any more than the minimum amount of weight or a little less & was determined to be back in my normal cloths right after she was born.....successful at that.
Only problem when you have the lowest healthiest weight....if any thing does come up that causes problems....illness, major stress......that weight goes in an instant & then the trouble begins.
Disordered eating is definitely eating that is NOT NORMAL.....but doesn't fall under the category of an ED.....total restricting......binging & purging....the like....so I think your T was right on with the DX.......but you can still have body image issues in a small way that plays into the picture. The body & mind are so complicated when they come together.....sometimes it just takes time to sort through it all & then the picture becomes clearer the more past you have to look back on.
