I'm not working right now, due to addiction and mental health issues. My only income is from pension plan withdrawals and I'm not allowed to withdraw much. My roommate is on gov't disability for schizophrenia. We decided to live together and rent a 2 bedroom when we met and lived in a homeless shelter. Together we could just afford a two bedroom.

We got turned down at one place, but got into a really nice, well maintained building, but we had to provide a guarantor to cosign the lease. Fortunately one of my friends has a good job, and was willing. If you have a friend who's working that might make finding a place to live easier.
