This is a good analysis of having your wisdom teeth out:
Wisdom Tooth Extraction (Removal): Recovery, Pain, and More
I never had my wisdom teeth out....but this coming September, I will be having the local dental school remove all my teeth along with some other oral surgery needed....healing then 4 months later get 2 lower implants for the lower dentures........one time knocking me out is ALL they get.
The thing I heard was that dry socket can be painful......this article talks about it.....NO DRINKING WITH A STRAW the first few days & knocking off the scab that is formed......but other than that....it sounds like no real complications.
For me, if I'm not knocked out....they would never be able to get close enough to me to do the oral surgery.
Wishing you the best with this.....most people have gone through it.....& they are all living to tell about it & guess that's a positive thing LOL. I just hate any pain that is from my neck up.
It's been amazing for me because most of my teeth have broken off because the enamel never formed when my teeth were forming & by the age of 60 most had broken off, but no dental insurance & no money, it's taken me awhile to get things settled & get all the things set up through the local dental school.....it's still expensive but nothing like it would be to have a private oral surgeon do the work.
I'm NOT looking forward to having it done...but looking forward to after & having dentures so I can smile normally again.
