Gayle... I'm currently reading/listening to the Audible recording of
The Autobiography of Benvenuto Cellini, who was a Renaissance artist along with Michelangelo. He created some magnificent "salt cellars," pictures available on Google images. These were commissioned by Popes and other royalty. His book is an amazing insight into the life of an artist during that time...kind of rollicking and raunchy at times.
