Personally, I've not found any med that helps my anxiety. Benzos can make me a bit spacey and definitely less anxious, but I hate how they make me feel and I also have the tendency to take too many. They're also not a great long-term solution because your body adjusts and the withdrawal from them is absolute hell.

SSRIs make me manic too. Also when I tried Zoloft I couldn't pee. That sucked.

I've heard of Buspar but I've never tried it.

Is there a certain time or situation your anxiety is linked to? I get the worst anxiety when I'm lying in bed at night, and I've finally figured out how to sleep well every night - getting out of the house every day, and routine, routine, routine. I take my Abilify at 10 PM, the rest of my meds at 11 PM, and I'm asleep by 12, very little anxiety.

I don't know if Abilify eases anxiety at larger doses, but I know a combination of time and routine eased mine in conjunction with Abilify. My anxiety was generally health related too, and those health problems got fixed so I'm less anxious.

Underneath this skin there's a human
Buried deep within there's a human
And despite everything I'm still human
I think that I'm still human
