Hello all.
Struggling with anxiety is a fairly new issue for me. I say new, but I have probably struggled with it for just over a year. I have always had depression issues so I am familiar with that, but I am still learning about what works for me with anxiety.
I started with having issues with public speaking. Which I have always struggled with but it was mild. Totally manageable. I went through a traumatic time about a year and a half ago and ever since then my anxiety has been through the roof. Saw a Pdoc who gave me Propranolol for presentations. It helped tremendously. The issue now is that the anxiety is becoming more chronic. It's more like when I'm talking to people or am sitting in class and have to talk and participate. I get red and sweat. It sucks. I never used to have this issue.
So the Pdoc gave me Xanax to take as needed. I didn't really feel like it was necessary or working and when I went back for a med check I explained it to him and he prescribed Buspirone. I haven't filled it yet, but am planning to do so today. I don't know much about it or what to expect.
Have others had any experience with this drug or can relate to my symptoms? I don't know what the best course of action is at this point. But some relief would be helpful.
