I've read about mindfulness and zen buddhism and have tried it. I find that when I stick to it, I'm generally less succeptible to things that would trigger me. The problem is that if one thing sets me into a bad mood, I get so down and then I get all lethargic and get off the wagon so easily. If you can stick to it though, I believe it will bring nothing but good to your life.
