FYI: I witnessed an few adults going through Dr. Hartmans program for literacy improvement. I was stoned when I saw the before and after evaluations, and not only that, but how they "learned to learn diferent" and kept on using the tools they acquired through the program to improve their ability to handle day to day stuff.
