I'm so sorry you day has gone so badly. It's not your fault. Don't own someone else's anger. Take a breath and another and another until you regain some calm.

When calmer heads prevail..... like tomorrow when both you and your PA get some rest... maybe take some time to talk about ways to handle stress and unpredictable problems like that one.

Even though you PA was inappropriate to vent and explode you might counter that with a small 'thank you gift' .... a flower or a peice of chocolate can go along ways to restore balance. It might open her up to talk about what caused her to go so balistic on you. There may have been additional issues going on for her besides the work issue.

Don't beat yourself up about it. These things happen. Let it go before it effects you any more than it already has.

Hope you are feeling better soon. You are obviously a very caring and sensitive person. Don't let it be used against you.

These are just my humble ideas.... my goal is not to tell you what to do but to support you to feel good about yourself no matter what life throws at you. Deadlines are a b%^#$ They always bring out the worst in people. Yuk!!!
