I feel the same way...I've had different therapists and psychologists (as we all have, I'm sure...) and they've said something along the lines of, "I can tell you're very intelligent, so that's not the problem". I feel like they are just stroking me at this point. The same ones also asked if I wrote, to which I responded yes. One of these guys had black eyes...can't trust him. (haha!) Later one asked if I had a habit of studying math and I laughed in his face.
I don't know,I I've always thought it's something they just say to make the patient feel good. Why they do it, I don't know...to break the ice?
