Hi, just realised that I forgot to mention something. You said that your husband had experienced mental health issues and also that you had depression - I've had both and have experienced some headway taking nutritional supplements - in particular taking vitamin C as ascorbic acid powder (about 1/3 a teaspoon or more mixed with a little water - I take a teaspoon now) - it made a significant difference (and a tub of powder works out cheaper - you can buy it online).
I also take a natural multivitamin/mineral tablet and omega oils.
If you've been under a lot of stress, your nutrient levels might be depleted so it could be worth a go upping them for at least a few months. If you're on a tight budget I'd really recommend the vitamin C powder. It might also be worth googling 'loss of appetite' and vitamin levels to see if there's any other scientific evidence out there.
