First of all you need to talk to your doc and/or pdoc about this. I really don't like how people go to antipsychotics , as a first line treatment for sleep.

When there are much safer drugs to use. Trazodone being one of them . You can adjust your dose from 25mg to 100mg
It was originally formulated for depression but it was quickly found out . If you want to use it for that therapeutic doses are in the 200-400 mg range. In other words it would be equivalent to the zombies in 'Shaun of the Dead' but low doses work great for sleep.http://europepmc.org/abstract/med/21870714

Doxepin:Conclusions:

Quote:
Five weeks of nightly administration of DXP 3 mg and 6 mg to adults with chronic primary insomnia resulted in significant and sustained improvements in sleep maintenance and early morning awakenings (with the exception of SE in the final quarter of the night on N29 for 3 mg [P = 0.0691]). These sleep improvements were not accompanied by next-day residual effects or followed by rebound insomnia or withdrawal effects upon discontinuation. These findings confirm the unique profile of sleep maintenance efficacy and safety of DXP observed in prior studies. Conclusions:

Efficacy and Safety of Doxepin 3 and 6 mg in a 35-day Sleep Laboratory Trial in Adults with Chronic Primary Insomnia

Agomelatine, ramelteon, pregabalin, melatonin.
Otc's like diphenhydramine and doxylamine Which I like neither because they are antihistamines but also anticholinergic .There are plenty of natural supplements like Valerian root and L-Theanine and exercise but I am too drained to get into that Besides isn't this the Psychopharmacology section.
I also forgot a low dose of amitriptyline.

As always talk to your healthcare team!
