I think it is hard to apply a stereotype to all Americans (at least from an American viewpoint; perhaps other countries stereotype all Americans the same, but that would be in error) because the stereotypes in this country tend to be regional/state-based.
Now, I live in North Texas (yes, Texas is large enough that various regions of the state have different stereotypes), so . . .
1. I don't have big hair (as apparently all Dallas women are supposed to have).
2. I've never ridden a horse and don't own a cowboy hat. (Now, drive 250 miles south and meet my cousins, and yes, they are very stereotypical cowboys).
3. I am not a fundamentalist conservative. I'm in the moderate to liberal range.
4. I don't drive a pick-up truck (although I wouldn't mind except for the gas mileage.)
5. I do have a Texan accent, although not as pronounced as my cousins (see #2) and not at all an East Texas accent (which is a whole other animal altogether).
6. I am actually rather cultured and am fortunate to live in a city with many cultural activities (not sure people would equate Dallas with culture if they didn't know the area, but it actually really is).
7. I do love a good steak and baked potato.
8. I could eat Mexican food daily I'm pretty sure.
9. I'm pretty friendly to strangers. They say Texans don't meet a stranger they don't like. We do tend to be pretty friendly folk for the most part.
