I am counseling with a Psychologist at this present time. But, her line of questioning and thinking keeps setting me off! When that happens, then she resorts to telling me to calm down (another trigger-that is the very thing that my husband does-which is also another trigger)!

Can you please give me a list of meds, maybe there are some that I haven't tried yet.
there are many different medications that work for controlling anger, it all depends on why the anger is out of control.....

example

women going through menopause have mood swings of uncontrolable anger. vitamin suppliments and hormone pills and other herbal meds can help control the anger by calming those mood swings due to menopause down.

people with bipolar sometimes have rapid mood swings that include extreme anger outbursts.. medications for bipolar can help control this kind of anger....

anti depressants work on some people who have extreme anger, so does anti psychotic meds for some people even though they do not have depression or psychosis.

my point is medications are a treatment where sometimes they work sometimes they dont, what works for one person may not work for another and all you can do is talk with your treatment providers and work with them on trying medications that may help you.

there is also non medicated ways to control anger. here in NY there are anger management classes through crisis centers, treatment providers, schools, colleges...that anyone can sign up for and attend to learn how to control their anger. again you will need to contact your treatment providers to find out if these are offered in your location, how to register for them.....
