Hey I live in Massachusetts and I currently suffer from depression. After what seemed like forever I told my parents how I feel and she made an appointment with my personal doctor. And after what seemed like an even greater ammount of time I was in the doctor's office. We talked and she said that I should see a therapist and asked if I wanted medication. The truth is I did, but I have a problem asking for it. I can't even take tylenol without first asking my mom if it's okay. So I told my doctor that I was unsure and that I just wanted something that will get me through the day without feeling so crappy. So, the doctor printed out some information and she gave it to me and said to call her when I've made a decision. The next day (yesterday) I skipped school, which has sort of become a habit (missed 5 days in the last 3 weeks), and I called the office and left her a message saying that I talked it over with my mom and we feel that medication would be a good option. Later that day, my mom found out that I had been cutting myself, or "self injuring" she immediately called the doctor. The doctor told my mom to call the therapist's office. she did and said that it was urgent that they call back. Today after school, I asked her when I would be receiving my medication and she said that I have to wait until I see the therapist. I know that it's going to take a while, but my question is about how long can I expect to wait for them to call back and how long can I expect to wait for my appointment?
