Yes yes yes! This is what happens to me, too. One thought after another... until my head is full and I wanna scream. Then I can't unthink the thoughts for days or weeks..
I try to do a lot.. or when the thought comes, tell myself to STOP! And start singing a song or reciting something over and over again until I have normal thoughts.
Memories are easier to shut out than fears or anxieties.
