My last session I sat down and noticed a framed card T has of a painting by Virginia woolfs sister, of Virginia woolf sitting slumped in a chair, had changed -
Often I remark about this card, say I know how she feels, or that T needs to get her paints out and retouch it, as like the image, the colour is fading - looked fresh.
With this T said, "I have something for you" and handed me a copy of the card. She had also replaced the faded one with a new one.
I smiled and said "thank you", of course in my head I felt all warm and cared about and remembered!
Those moments, where a shared memory is honoured between you both, are wonderful.
Shared moments.
