HI. I have suffered with depression and anxiety since School, particularly through university and in places of work and it has affected me in other areas of life. I have learnt over time that i have a challenging illness which depression and anxiety are part of.
I have been to courses, workshops, read articles, talked to different people, had counselling/therapy etc.. and tried things like meditation, yoga, mindfulness and activities to help increase my level of self esteem, assertiveness and improve my relations with others.
I'm aware that I need to make important changes in myself, controlling or stopping certain negative, unhelpful habits, developing skills, strengths, finding new opportunities, altering the way i view and am with self and others, and improving my life generally, the way i live my life. There are a lot of things I'm not happy about, that im still affected by from past and want to change.
But, I currently feel stuck/trapped in difficult dark place, feel like im currently living out of touch with real life, missing out on things and lacking people to spend time with, share with who feel get on well with .

I want to feel freeer, less restricted, well, and able to have more control over my life and live more fully.
Have other people tried to make efforts to help themselves, to try to change but encountered a lot of negative outcomes?
