KissFace, the Equate brand is pretty good. Chances are you're not pregnant. If you still haven't started your period by next weekend, you might want to spend the extra money on the more expensive brand name test and retest yourself.

I often skipped cycles when I was young and felt half scared out of my wits. That was in the days before home pregnancy tests and you couldn't even get any kind of test until you were a month or six weeks overdue. Scary!

You have reason to feel distressed because not too long ago you went through a bad scene and your periods are usually regular. But you have been under a lot of stress and that can mess up the cycle on any woman. Chances are you are not pregnant. But, naturally, you want to know for sure.

I just googled the accuracy of Equate and other home pregnancy tests. All the articles say that it's important to follow the directions carefully and if you get a negative result and do not feel totally convinced, it's best to wait a few days to test again. If a woman is pregnant, that will give the pregnancy hormones time to build up to a level that will show on a test.

If you retest, don't drink extra fluid beforehand because that can dilute your urine. Make sure the stick is completely wet and read it within the proper length of time, usually 1-10 minutes.

If you don't get your period, you'll feel a lot better if you spring for the more expensive test. Hoping very much that you get the result you want!
