First of all: I have been where you are. And I know first hand how hard it is to do anything at all when depression has a hold on you. As hard as it is, try to fight back with self talk. Depression is telling you how worthless you are, so you need to tell depression that you are not worthless.

Stuck in bed: Been there done that too. OK. Everyone needs to go to the bathroom. This is the time to spread your wings. While you are up try to eat, read the paper, feed a pet, water the flowers/plants, change clothes, shower. Anything that you can do to get your mind back from depression. By the way my plants died. And I loved my plants, I had them for years. And I let them die. Anyway I know that you can do this, I did. It is very hard but one step at a time. Stay up as long as you can. If you need to go back to bed, do it. Take your time.

Keep a phone number near the phone in case you need it. Don't be afraid to call for help.
