I go to the now privately-run state teaching hospital where I receive free care. I see docs on psych rotation with a new one every six months. I get to see specialists in every other clinic except this free psych clinic. So I feel like I rarely get good care because no one is following me on a long-term basis. I had my first appt. with a new doc, and she was overwhelmed with my treatment. She said all the things you shouldn't say to someone with mental illness. I had wanted to make some suggestions about my meds, but I guess I will have to do that another time. She just didn't seem to have much knowledge about causes, i.e. genetics, chemical imbalance. Ugh!
