I was terribly afraid to swallow any toothpaste when I was a kid. I used to spit as quickly as I could and rinse my mouth very well. There was a little girl in my neighbourhood who had apparently gotten very sick from eating a whole tube of toothpaste and had to go to the hospital. My mum told me about it when I was 4, but I misunderstood. This is going to sound horrible, but I thought this little girl was very odd-looking, and I thought she looked that way because she had eaten a tube of toothpaste. So, I was afraid that if I swallowed toothpaste, I would end up looking like her, and I didn't want that to happen.

P.S. I had a Strawberry Shortcake doll. She smelled yummy. I also had her friend, Apple Blossom (I think that was her name).
