Ok, there may be some merit in the concept. But you will need to be more careful with what. High starch and high sugar today - spikes blood sugar then insulin spikes then blood sugar crashes. That affects the body physically as well as mentally.

Try a high protein, low carb, moderate fat diet - lean red meats, poultry, seafood, eggs, legumes such as lentils and beans. Low fat dairy, especially yogurt. As many vegetables as you can eat - but NOT starchy ones, and no fried or in rich sauces. A little fresh fruit. A lot of water.

It does help with depression.
