Nicole, I have eczema. It comes and goes. I have a powerful prescription ointment called Psorcon that is fairly effective. I think it is a steroid ointment and controls the eczema by suppressing the immune system.

My hands are the major site of my eczema. I avoid washing them as much as possible. When I wash dishes, I wear cotton liner gloves and then rubber gloves on the outside. I only use Dove soap to wash my hands. And I use Neutrogena hand ointment on my hands to help with dryness. I don't use any other lotions or creams, as many of them increase dryness, especially the water based ones. The Neutrogena hand ointment I used is glycerin based and is clear. Creams/lotions that are white, creamy looking are water based. Doing all these things, I can keep my eczema under control.
