I read the article and it is interesting. Stanford is on the cutting edge of these issues a long with John Hopkins and others. I would say it is too new to know which supplements or drugs may effect that circuit. It is another small piece of a very large puzzle. There have been studies on stress hormones contributing to depression. Cortisol and epinephrine.

I would strongly suggest meditation.
Exercise
Relaxation techniques
Anything to reduce stress and the high levels of those hormones.

It would not surprise me one bit if meditation has a large impact on the circuit in the study.
