Well how did you feel about the laughing. Were they laughing with joy? Or laughing at you?
The best thing I find is to meditate for 15 minutes or just follow the breath. As you lie down ask your inner self to reveal what the message is for you. Dreams are a telegram from a deep part of ourself we are usually shut off from in waking life. It may be that we are just too scared to hear how really scared we are of social situations. But there is a positive outcome awaiting as we turn within and accept what the message is.
