That's happened to me, too! I remember one instance where we had a big history test in 5th grade and not only did I not know we were going to have a test that day, I also had absolutely no memory of covering any of the subject matter. I turned in a blank test and cried and begged to be given another chance.
It definitely sounds like the dissociating is causing you distress.
