I've been on welfare for a year while I make my way through the SS disability process. It's a special program where I'm required to see my therapist weekly and prove I'm working towards getting "better" (hah!), but I don't have to work. Well, this morning my welfare caseworker told me that because I only see my psychiatrist every three months, they're going to deny me continuation on this program.

I'll be required to start working a minimum of 30 hours per week to get my $380 a month from welfare. I tried to explain to my caseworker that my psychiatrist only manages my medication and nothing else, and my therapist does the real work with me, but she said her hands are tied.

I don't know what to do. I simply CAN'T work. There's no way it's possible. And even if I did try to work 30 hours/week, I wouldn't be able to continue the disability process (waiting for a hearing now).

This new stressor is pushing me over the edge. :'( I don't know what to do!!!
