In the sunbelt areas, winters tend to be ideal. The days are cool or warm, but not cold with snow. But summers can be hot and noisy. In the northern areas, summers would be pleasant. But the winters can be brutal.

I read somewhere that in places like India, people there have SAD during the summer months. So I guess that explains it.
I grew up in Michigan where the summers are ideal and beautiful. The winters are long and they suck. Then I lived in the central valley of CA for 20 years where summers are brutal. I worked outside in that 105 sun all the time. Now I am back in Michigan and it is summer. I acclimate to both climates. My depression doesn't care it does its seasonal cycle thing no matter what. Like I said the seasonal aspect of it is not talked about much but I think it is much more common then we realize.
