Oh, honey....follow your instincts. You alone feel how you feel. If you feel you are on the wrong meds, chat with you pdoc and honestly tell him/her to try something else. When my first meds (lexapro and wellbutrin) did not work for me, I told my doc. She did not listen, so I became manic. Your body is your body. If your body tells you something aint right, then it aint.

I too am currently rapid cycling. Yesterday, I was cranky and depressed at 8 am, happy as a lark at noon, crying and depressed at 2:30 pm. chatty and happy at 4pm. Impulsively bought a $360 dress at 4:30 p.m., drank two bottles of wine at 7 p.m. Crying and suicidal at 8:30 p.m. Cried myself to sleep. Or passed out from the alcohol, I can't tell the difference.

Rapid cycling is emotionallly and physically draining. Hopefully this will pass.

Being from another culture, I am wary of the ease and frequency people in this country are diagnosed with mental illnesses. I will consistently be in a state of denial about my condition not by choice but by nurture.
