Some people can benefit from meditation. Meditation is very hard for me, so I don't do it. A few times I was able to enter a trance by staring at a candle for an hour. That feels very relaxing, but it was a huge effort that isn't practical for me. I usually fall asleep when I try.
I hope you find something that works. I hate being depressed. When I'm depressed I think it is a more accurate assessment of my life. When I'm not depressed it always scares me how distorted I was thinking under the effects of depression.
