if you are looking for good clippers there are none better than Andis A-5 -- it depends on the blade size also- you might want to get additional blades depending on the cut.

Sammys have a wired coat therefore that might be the problem that you are having. You will need a professional blades / clippers and Andis is the best you can get.

But it is my recomendation to get a summer clip for your dog if there is a having coat . Or you might want to de shed the pooch which will take a few warm baths

Also because the density of the sammys coat go to a stock shop and purchase a " Horse Slicker "

This looks a bent over saw with one handle with small teeth . this helps loosen the under coat if you live in a hotter climate
