I'm sorry to say that the police are getting more and more violent in their handling of everyone, not just mental health cases.

Edit to add, I was taken to the ground by five police officers because I objected to being handcuffed. I was not threatening them in any way. I was perfectly calm.

I told them I could not breathe (I have a heart/lung condition). They did not care. They kept pressing down on me and would not turn me on my side.

I thought I was going to suffocate to death. It was terrifying.
