Yea you're right, and I understand that. But most times if they know absolutely right this second they have no beds, it's not hard to just say NO so I can call elsewhere.

I mean yes I can totally call 911 and get them To put me on a three day hold and force them to take me but that involves me in handcuffs and other unpleasantness best avoided.

I've done it before to call and 8 out if ten times they say yes or no and start the assessment papers on the phone til I get there. If someone's about to kill themselves it's not prudent to say sorry come on over and find out if we can keep you or transfer you out. To me that's ********. I hang up on those people and find someplace else.

Also once I went straight there (as they told me to) even tho I said I had hurt myself and they were mad I didn't go to eR first for stitches.

I once had ankle surgery and was in a hard cast and was suicidal. You know these morons and their "policies" told me sure I can come but I'd have to stop off at the ER first to get my cast cut off bc it wasn't allowed on unit. three days post major surgery. If people can't have common sense to see the bigger picture then why bother with them? It's reflective of the service they're likely to provide.

I have little patience for idiots when I'm entrusting my welfare to them.
