This is true. I had an emergency appointment when I had a serious plan and my T called my psychiatrist and he called the hospital, told me where to put me, and that he will be my doctor for the time I'm there. I went home, packed my stuff and my partner drove me there. Their response: "oh we've been waiting for you!" With friendly voices and smiles. I was very distraught and teary. I believe hospitals ARE more compliant when a patients personal clinicians and practitioners are involved.
