> I have to chime in here as it seems that people are giving this quiz thing alot of validity when it has none.
But it SAYS: 'a mental wellness test that has been scientifically designed'...
Scientifically designed.
AND (as if that wasn't enough) endorsed by: 'the Internet's largest and oldest mental health social network created and run by mental health professionals to guarantee reliable, trusted information'.
To guarantee.
My thought was that since sanity and insanity aren't scientific terms (as you note) one is able to operationally define the terms however one wants (ie insane JUST IS getting a high score on the quiz).
Though... It is indeed assessing ones beliefs about / view of oneself more than anything. I often think that being labelled tends to have a negative affect on that (self fulfilling prophecy) but people do seem to have this compulsion to take the tests that put them into boxes...
> we know that there is little correlation with how patients view thier own mental health status and what it really is.
Though self report inventories are a fairly common way of assessing the severity of the problem prior, during, and after therapy in order to assess the efficacy of therapy. Perhaps... One wouldn't want to undermine that...
